Chief of Staff Careers 

Business Development Consultant

Overview
vChief is searching for a part-time Business Development Consultant who is energized by the idea of building our business development strategy and helping us break into new markets, specifically in the start-up tech sector. You will be charged with establishing new partnerships for us, representing vChief externally, and leveraging other vChief staff to support you in executing the strategy. You’ll rub elbows with founders and leaders, spread the word about vChief’s work, hold meetings with prospective clients, and support vChief’s leadership team with closing deals.

 

Our organization
vChief is focused on connecting leaders with chiefs of staff. We recruit, select and vet professionals with experience in strategy, operations, communications, and project management, many of whom have been in chief of staff roles previously. To ensure a consistent approach across all clients, we provide our chiefs of staff a set of best practices
around completing a needs-assessment, setting priorities with clients, communicating effectively on their behalf, project management and more. Leaders will opt into a monthly level of service to meet their needs, which will be provided by one of our contracted chiefs of staff.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a lead generation strategy.

  • Conduct cold and warm outreach to leads via phone calls and email.

  • Leverage your strong communication skills as well as candidate research to make a compelling pitch about vChief.

  • Network at conferences, co-working spaces, and community events to cultivate new leads and partnerships.

  • Diligently track communication and progress to goal leveraging our system of trackers and our CRM, Copper.

  • Coach and leverage other vChief team members to execute on the strategy that you develop.

  • Meet with founders and C-suite leaders to assess fit with vChief’s services, and make a compelling case for establishing a partnership with vChief.
     

Ideal candidate


Education & Prior Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience in sales, business development, or chief-of-staff role.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Strong record of results in professional settings.

  • Experience working in sales, tech, or start-up environments preferred.

  • Prior management consulting experience is preferred.

Compensation
Compensation for this role is commensurate with experience and includes hourly base pay and commission for every new client that you bring to vChief. Hours for this role are flexible, based on availability.
