Alli M. is the Co-Founder and Principal of The Equity Practice, a boutique equity consulting firm focused on helping organizations support racial equity in the workplace. Prior to launching The Equity Practice, Alli joined Teaching Trust as Chief Operating Officer in July 2016 and was charged with leading organizational-wide planning, talent strategy, finance, and operations work. Her work included launching the organization’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion development work and revamping its performance management system.
Prior to joining Teaching Trust, Alli worked for Teach For America for three years in multiple roles on national teams. Her work included advising a portfolio of TFA regions on fundraising strategy and collaborating with districts and schools. Alli also worked for TNTP (formerly The New Teacher Project), a nonprofit focused on addressing educational inequality by working to ensure poor and minority students get outstanding teachers. Her previous experience also includes work for The Bridgespan Group, a nonprofit strategy firm where she worked with clients in the education and healthcare spaces.
Alli began her nonprofit career as a funder to other nonprofits in the community development field. She earned her MBA from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania and bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
