Sarah Sandelius has close to 20 years of experience driving operational policy and strategy on behalf of our nation's young people, focusing on the most vulnerable populations, including disconnected youth, justice-involved students, and students with disabilities.
As a systems builder, Sarah has created and successfully managed several organizations and mission-critical initiatives.Sarah started and ran the Litigation Implementation Unit in the Office of General Counsel in the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE), as well as managing special education for the Department’s alternative school district, District 79.
Prior to her work at the NYC DOE, Sarah held a special projects role in the NYC regional office of Teach For America and worked as an Associate in the Education and Litigation practice groups at Hogan and Hartson, LLC (now Hogan Lovells), a Washington, DC law firm. She lives in Maryland with her husband and daughter.
